Welcome to our school!

Primary4/5

Primary 4/5 have a very busy time ahead this term!

We have a very important crime to investigate as unfortunately Miss Taylor's mug has gone missing!  We are also starting a theatre makers workshop in partnership with the Lyceum Theatre, which includes a trip to the theatre and us putting on our own performance.  We have also been lucky enough to arrange a 3 week course of ice-skating lessons with the Edinburgh Capitals!  With all of this and a book week, we are going to be very tired indeed!

In Primary 4/5, we need to bring the following things with us every day to help us do our best work:

* pencils, rubber, sharpener

* coloured pens/pencils

* homework diary

*reading book

* PE kit- shorts and T- shirt

* indoor shoes

Primary 4/5 have been learning about Crime and Punishment this term. Unfortunately, Miss Taylor's special mug went missing from the staff kitchen and we have been investigating the incident.  We set up our own police force, have questioned suspects, written statements, collected fingerprints and evidence and now we are compiling a database that will hopefully lead us to the guilty party! As part of our trip we have put on an assembly for the other classes and were lucky enough to have a trip to Fettes Police Headquarters which was really interesting.  Phillipa from the Lyceum has been helping us put what we have learned into a drama and we will be performing this in a couple of weeks.

As a follow up to our street hockey lessons by Taylor Christie and Doug Christiansen from the Edinburgh Capitals, we have been really lucky to have a 3 week ice skating course.  Members of the team, along with owner Scott Neil, are helping us learn how to skate and even try out some hockey.  Miss Taylor was a little scared of falling over but luckily she managed to stay on her skates (this week at least! ). It was really exciting having the ice rink to ourselves and we are looking forward to 2 more lessons.

This term we have been having our Reflection Time on a Friday.  As a class, we discuss the successes and difficulties we may have had in during the week and think of ways to improve on these the following week.  We have been recording these as a powerpoint that you can look at by clicking on the link below.
